Clayton's Peak...

Justin and his good friend Adam climbed Clayton's Peak last Saturday, at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon. The colors are starting to change on the mountains here, especially over in Midway and Heber City. This is our favorite season in Utah.

Graphic, You Were Warned...

I should be more self conscious than this, that I know. But for the sake of the history of my mouth, it just has to be documented. This is my gum graft that I voluntarily underwent this afternoon. YIKES!!! and OUCH!!! Thank heavens for pain medicine. Justin did this to me. And to think I still love him. We'll see after all the swelling, bleeding, and healing is over with. Who knows why my gums decided to recede so far down to necessitate a graft like this. Justin laid the flap, and took some tissue from my hard palate to use for the graft, then sutured everything all up. It took an hour and a half. I was numb so I didn't feel a thing, but three hours later...WOW! It is over and done with now, and I just pray I don't have to go through another dang thing with this mouth of mine...besides finishing the bleaching of my front tooth(which happens to be dead, and still has a temporary filling in it due to having started the bleaching process at Temple) and braces, but hoping for invisalign, to close the gap in my lower teeth(which occurred from not wearing my retainers after getting married, teeth still move darn it). If I can just survive my first night, I think I will be okay...

Justin's 30th Birthday...

Justin is officially 30! His birthday started off on Saturday with the BYU vs. Florida State game down at the Y. His friend from work and his wife have season tickets and invited us to come with them. We had a great time, minus the fact that BYU lost. But I finally got to experience the Cougar Tail(a two foot long maple bar, and oh my was it ever good). Then on Sunday, his actual birthday, we had friends and family over for dessert. The theme was to let Justin's Youth RIP, because turning 30 is a big deal and all right?

Pre-School at the Middle School...

Zach's cousin, and "best buddy", Parker, held a mock pre-school day for their home ec class, over at the junior high. If he had a pre-schooler come, he could get extra credit. Good thing we live here...Zach was thrilled. Parker had made him a name tag, take home goodies, plus put on a play of Goldie Lockes and the Three Bears, Snack and Craft Time, and a round of Duck Duck Goose. He is still asking if he can go back to school with Parker. Here are the cute photos of "the buddies."

In the Saddle No Longer...

The hype behind Justin playing soccer again is now over. Over now, because he broke his hand. Dentist + Broken Hand = Not so fun! I think he will be re-thinking how he wants to keep in shape. He broke the bone right above his ring finger. Luckily it was on his left hand, but having a club hand makes everything really hard. To look on the bright side, the benefits are no dishes, no bathing the kids, no changing diapers, no lifting, just to name a few...Yes he can still work, but some of the procedures he can do are limited. We are hoping for a fast 4-6 week recovery. That doesn't sound too fast now does it?

Take a Look Now...

Every Sunday, Justin has this habit of pulling up our pictures on his ipod and scrolling through them to prove our kids look like him. I am not complaining, if they look like him, great! I didn't marry him because he was ugly. It is fun to see, as she gets older, who she looks like. I have always said that my kids are a pretty good mix, but I am not too sure now...Thanks to my sis-in-law Mari, for taking this picture of Kate this summer.

I Think...

Someone is very excited to be back in pre-school again. In true Zach style, we got the thumbs up on the first day.

This is one of the layouts I did for my scrap club this month. To check out the rest of the layouts I did click here.

Apparently, They Do Listen...

I went to the OB on Friday afternoon because we switched insurance and I needed to get a prescription for birth control. Oh yeah, you didn't know?...Justin and I are done. For now anyways. Anywho, Zach had asked me why I was going to the doctor and I had told him that I needed to get the "No Baby Medicine". My friend Val watched my kids for me while I was at the doctor, and her little girl, Gracee, and Zach had this conversation...apparently

Gracee - Zach where is your mom?

Zach - She's a the doctor getting her no baby medicine.

I just think it is funny and cute that he listened so intently to me, and makes me feel like a winner of a mom for having a kid who actually listens to what I say.

Back in the Saddle Again...

Justin joined an indoor soccer league. It is fun to watch him play again, after a 5 year hiatus. Zach especially loves watching Daddy score goals. I love watching him keep up with the college kids that try to give him a run for his money...of course I still think he's got it! He scored a goal tonight..."woo hoo", as Kate would say.

Summer Wrap-Up...

We are so sad to see summer go, but are excited for school to start. Here are some of the highlights from August...

Our gym had a huge carnival with games, bounce-u's, face painting, balloons, you name it! And all for free...gotta love that! Radio Disney came to the Gallivan Center, downtown SLC, and had several activities for the kids to do. Zach petting the enormous snake is a special picture for Grandma RaeLynn. Picture that in your back yard! We discovered Liberty Park. The kids spent hours in their water canal. Kate(and her baby) enjoyed their first amusement park ride, and as always we are loving the splash pad. We went to our friend's cabin up in Millcreek. Justin and I had forgotten how beautiful it is up there. Zach was in heaven bouncin around with his new best friend Caleb. Last but not least we spent a day at Thanksgiving Point's Animal farm, from feeding the goats to a hay ride. These kids are keeping me busy that is for sure!
