That time i turned 40 during COVID...

Let’s face it summer birthdays have never been my favorite and during a pandemic when people are avoiding each other makes things even worse. But I have to admit I had some really thoughtful friends make turning 40 during a pandemic not so bad with lunch, treats and a rocking birthday singing telegram . Justin topped off the day with Bamboo sushi take out and he and the kids spoiled me with gifts.

Hoverboards and Mastoid Bones...

You continue to surprise us with injuries. This time it’s your mastoid bone in your hand from falling off of the Gatchell’s hoverboard. At least it wasn’t your back this time, and they finally made casts waterproof! It didn’t quite ruin the entire summer.

Preston Turns 4...

Happy Birthday Preston! You are obsessed with all things Spider-man. You love noodles, rice, pancakes, paw patrol and pj masks. You are our most intense child and attack life(and sometimes your brothers and sister). You love your cousins, playing with friends and playing outside. You keep us on our toes and impress us with your new talent of crossing your eyes. We loved celebrating your and grandpa Thompson’s special day!

Marostica Family Reunion in Eden, UT...

We made it to Eden, Utah to spend time for the first Marostica Family Reunion since all of us have had kids that wasn’t tied to a wedding or funeral! We rented a nice home up on the hill in Eden that overlooked  the valley surrounded by the mountains. We spent a day at the beach playing in the water and just enjoying spending time together and letting the kids play.

The next day we ventured out on a hike in search of a rope swing that Zach had discovered while searching for things to do in Eden. This trek to this rope swing was quite an adventure, a little steep, but very beautiful and quite popular among the locals. Zach got a thrill swinging and we had fun watching him take a chance over the water. The little boys were troopers and survived the long hot afternoon. At the end they were so hot we let them play in the water for a bit before heading back home. It was a fun day! That night we watched the sun set from the hill above the house that we stayed in and stayed long enough to watch the fireworks happening down at the reservoir before getting the kids home for bed.

We introduced the family to our favorite game LCR. We gathered around the pool table, with our ones in hand, anxious to see who was going to take home the jackpot. Crew was the big winner!

It was fun to get the entire family together and a fun way to welcome Justin’s parents home from their mission to Chile. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we have another family reunion. The kids change so much and since we all live in different states it gets difficult to find time to reunite, but it’s so fun when we do!
