Westside Timbers Copa 04B State Cup 2019...

This team, these boys...ah they get so close every year to winning the state cup and just fall shy of the win every year. We all thought they would end up playing United PDX in the final so when we learned that United PDX had lost, and we would now be playing PCU, we were all excited for the possibility of winning! I think what was more frustrating this season for Zach was to end on the injured side. He gave the state cup final his all vs PCU, but by the end of the game he was limping. He loves the game and we love watching him do what he loves. The season was a success regardless of the outcome, and the saying goes that what really matters is how you pick yourself up from failure and decide to keep going, and I am confident he will do just that. We are going to have to figure this new limp issue for sure though...

Our very own Olympic Gold Medalist!

Words cannot describe the elation we all felt when we found out that Maddi and her Utah Valley University dance team was selected to represent the USA at the ICU World Championship Jazz Dance Division. What an honor to be chosen, and upon their very first year ever entering Nationals and winning for the first time in January. They danced head to head, or should I say toe to toe, against some amazing talent from all over the world including countries Japan, China, New Zealand, etc. The kids and I got up and got ready for school early to cheer her on before heading off to school. I was a ball of nerves just watching the live feed on our home computer. What I wouldn't have given to be there in person to cheer her on. And the results? GOLD!!! Their performance was nothing short of amazing! The time and energy these girls put into this routine I am sure are almost immeasurable and boy did it pay off...a GOLD MEDAL!!! Needless to say we are so proud of Maddi and this unbelievable accomplishment. I am sure she is still pinching herself. Seriously, just sit back and think of it for a minute...one of our own, a Gold Medalist!

And an article link to their spot in the NEWS!

Easter 2019...

What a great Easter! Our neighbors, Marah and Myles Cluff,  invited us and other families in the neighborhood over for an Easter Egg Hunt with a potluck brunch in their backyard. Then we had an Easter Egg painting party at Uncle Andy and Aunt Mari's house. Preston really got into the dye and loved making the eggs change colors this year. On Sunday, we dressed in our Sunday best and went to church to celebrate the life and resurrection of our brother and Savior Jesus Christ, and ended the day at Grandma and Grandpa Thompson's for Easter dinner and yet another egg hunt!
