Sophmore Year Soccer, in the Spring!

Instead of the normal fall season Zach's sophomore year of soccer switched to Spring and only lasted 6 weeks. We were allowed to go to home games but were not allowed to go to away games.  That didn't stop us from sneaking in to them though. There was no way anyone was going to keep up from watching our own kid play his favorite sport, OUTSIDE! Gosh these covid rules are dumb! This was his first year playing on Varsity and he proved to be a valuable member on his team. We loved watching him and family was also excited to come cheer him on. His back wasn't completely healed, but he grew quite a bit during Covid and had been able to rest so he herniated disc didn't seem to flare up too badly. He stretched and did his PT exercises every day to keep himself game ready.

Andy's Birthday at K1 Racing...

Andy had one request for his birthday. He has a need for speed so scheduled a racing session and K1 Raceway.  Justin, Zach and Kate joined in on the fun. Sadly none of them placed but they all had a great time and Andy won bragging rights, which is fitting for his birthday.

Finally IN PERSON School...

After months and months of online school, the kids finally get to re enter their schools. They go for 2.5 hours a day with masks on, so they don't catch or spread Covid. It is completely ridiculous that they have been out of school this long so I will take the small win that this is. I have written so many emails, attended more zooms than I can count to advocate for my kids and all the kids of Oregon to get back to school. II even went to a couple rallies around town to try and draw attention to how horrible this school closure has been. This is s a small step in getting back to normal.

Easter...

We tried our hand at dying our Easter eggs with shaving cream and food coloring. They turned out alright.  The boys had fun rolling them around in the cream. After church we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Thompson's house for dinner with our egg hunt tradition afterward. We were glad to have nice weather to be able to have it outside. Living in Oregon doesn't always allow for that.
