100 Degrees at Shasta over Memorial Day...

Uncle Andy invited us to join them down in Shasta for Memorial Day. The temps were hotter than normal making for a great trip. The water was on the lower side but we found enough open space to surf and tube to fill our cup full of great memories.

Dancing through COVID...

Nothing about this dance season was normal. Masks had to be worn, closing shows didn't happen, awards were given in class and recitals were cancelled, But I give lots of respect to Kate and her teammates for sticking with it and powering through all the rules to be able to step foot on a stage this year. With all the set backs in their way I glad Washington kept things open enough to keep my girl dancing. Hoping Oregon gets back to normal by the fall.

Showcase en lieu of Recital...

Since the schools are not operating at full capacity we were not able to have our normal recital. SO en lieu we had a showcase during each class. It was sort of nice not to have to go through the entire recital week with rehearsals and long days. I am sure it felt very anti climatic for the kids though. I am really proud of these kids for persevering with having to dance in masks all year. Make sure made it hard to know what the kids were thinking and feeling but I hope they all enjoyed being able to move their bodies and connecting with people who were not from their immediate family. With weeks of zoom to being back in person to another shut down and going back to zoom again and then finally back in person we have all been through the ringer. Let's hope we never have to repeat this situation again.

Preston's Pre-school Graduation...

I am so thankful to Village Bible for not shutting its doors and allowing these sweet littles to continue learning and having socialization. Pre school for Preston has been such a blessing. He got to attend with his best buddy Robel too! Mrs. Nolan was his favorite teacher. It's hard to believe that he will be going to Kindergarten next year.
