Christmas 2021...

We spent Christmas Eve over at Grandma and Grandpa Thompson's house. Re-enacting the Nativity is one of our favorite traditions. Even though the kids are getting older they thankfully still play along and dress up. I pray they always remember the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas Eve was followed by Christmas jammies and after a quick sleep the gifts were flowing. We clearly spoil our kids rotten, but more than the presents I really hope they remember us hosting Christmas Dinner at our house, followed by Dad's seasonal trivia, the family gift card exchange, the children's toy exchange and our lively game of LCR. Its irreverent for sure but the kids and adults all participate and its by far some of the best memories we have of who takes home the bounty!

Deck the Halls...

We continue with our Christmas tradition of heading out to Loch Lollyland in search for the perfect tree. Their supply was pretty awful so we saw Santa and gave him our wish lists and headed to another farm for better looking trees. Preston wants a Power Ranger Sword, Ryan wants an Electric Scooter, Kate wants Clothes and Zach wants a Carson Wentz Jersey. We ended up finding a tree over at Furrow Farms. It was a shorter tree than we usually have so I decided to make myself happier and put up my white flocked tree. Its a lot of work but so beautiful. All the ornaments are hand me downs from my mom. Growing up we always had a green tree and a flocked tree in the formal living room. I wish I had the space to put it up centered in a window. But the corner of my dining room is okay too.

Christmas Eve with Superman...

We gathered and spent Christmas Eve at Aunt Heather and Uncle Steve's house. We ate yummy food followed by each family sharing a fun game to play as a whole group. After games the kids got dressed up in Grandma Thompson's collection of Nativity costumes and re enacted the nativity, read out loud by Grandpa. This year we had a "Superman" Joseph, two wise men and an angel. When we got home the kids opened their Christmas jammies and headed off to bed. It's the same thing almost every year, but Christmas traditions never get old no matter how many times they get repeated.

Our Naughty Elf Vinny...

Vinny has been up to no good! We had to document some of his shenanigans.

Oh Tennenbaum...

So...turns out the crate idea we had to prop our small tree on to add more height wasn't the brightest idea. Guess short it is this season. I wasn't home when this all happened but I have a nice water stain on my rug that will remind me to never try and add height to my tree again.
